In A Dreamer's World

I remember when I was a child, I believed anything was possible, and believed everything I read in the books. There was this great big magical world out there and I wanted to find it. If you knew me as a child you would have probably thought I was a little weird, after I watched The Land Before Time I walked around on all fours carrying my fake baby dinosaur around in my mouth. I remember after watching Peter Pan how badly I wanted to fly to Never land, so I decided to build wings, and I was going to fly away to Never Land and live with the lost boys. So I spent 2 days cutting out cardboard wings and gluing leaves I collected off the trees to my wings. Finally when they were done, I could barely sleep. It was the night before I would take off. I had my back pack packed and when daylight hit the next morning I was on that roof before anyone woke up. Standing on the roof, I remember feeling at that moment like I was the smartest human on Earth. With my wings tied to my arms with white yarn I cut off the blanket my mom made me, I looked up at the sky smiled and took 5 steps back then with one huge breath I took off running forward and in one giant leap and a quick flap of my wings, I was in the air, and just like that I hit the ground and a sharp pain shot through my face. When I finally was able to comprehend what had happened I realized when I fell and hit the ground my knee shot up and hit me in the face, I now had a busted lip and a bleeding nose. I never tried to fly again, but I still think about it and how cool it would have been. My point to this is not that we should go try to build wings and fly to Never Land but that we should all revert back to our childhood when to us anything was possible when nothing could stop us from what we wanted, we were cowboys and Indians in our own back yard, we were princesses in our tree houses waiting for our princes to rescue us from the dragon. We believed in something bigger than what we were, and when we believed in ourselves. We all need to go back to when our faith could move mountains and we believed our dreams could come true, because they can. Life is an adventure, and with God anything is possible. Don’t conform to this world, but live out loud, do what you want and chase after your dreams because in the end, you will wish you had. ….So here is too all you dreamers and adventurers who have the courage to let go and chase after your dreams, may you find everything you were looking for, and many things you weren’t .

It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door," he used to say. "You step into the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to.

Days Dreaming Again

Someday I’m gonna find that road leading straight to you
Even if it takes forever, I know he’ll see me through.
I’m packing my bags and I am traveling light.
I’ve left it all behind me, and I know I’ll be alright

The Feeling

Something inside we can’t ever tame.
It’s a feeling, a touch, or maybe a thought.
A cry from inside at the price that were bought.
It’s hearts on fire, pounding in peace.
The life that were given washed up in grace.

It’s what I need and what I feel.
Everything that could ever be real
Dancing across the warmth of a soul
Breaking free and asking for more

It’s a voice inside screaming my name
breaking, falling and hurting and pain.
It’s the road we run, the road we choose
I am a runner in a race that I will never lose.

It’s the world stopping at my very feet
The place where sin and salvation meet.
It’s holding on to more than what we see
My heart is set on eternity.

Beauty

What is beauty? Is it something we see or something we feel?

At one point in time, if not many, we all as woman struggle with our self worth. There are constant reminders in the magazines we read, the shows we watch and the rejections we face that we must achieve perfection to get what we want and to be accepted. We begin to believe that beauty is only skin deep. When in reality beauty is something felt and seen with our minds and our spirits, and comes from the “Wellspring of life”, our hearts. Beauty is more than the clothes we wear, or the way we look. It is more than physical perfection. Beauty starts inside and reflects outward. It’s the way we love, it’s the way we live, it’s God in us. When we realize that, and begin to work more on our hearts rather than our hair, then that is when we truly become beautiful..from the inside out.

SOAR

Never alone, always with you
We run and we fight our way through.
Up against the worst kind of things
But I look up, and you give me wings
To rise above all this pain
I soar through the sky when you call my name.

Breathe

There is so much beauty in the world around us, so much joy and wonder..even in the small things. We are in such a hurry, that we forget to stop and breathe. To take a moment to relax and experience life with all of our senses. Time is not on our side and one day very soon, you will look back and wonder when life passed you by. You will think about all the moments you truly felt alive and you will quietly wish that they had lasted longer, or that that instead of rushing through life that you had maybe stopped and maybe grabbed on to those perfect moments, those chances you were given to experience life. So today I encourage you to live. To make today it's best. Let no chance pass you by. Hold on to friendships, make time for your family, smile at strangers, laugh at your own jokes, and let the joy of the Lord take you over, but most importantly....Love. Love without passing judgment, love uncontrollably. Love always. Because ........Life is but a breath. Psalm 39:5

A Small Reminder

I may be sad about today
But I am hopeful for tomorrow.
My heart may have been broken
But I continue to follow.
Everyday is a reminder that there is something more
Than all I have left behind and all I have settled for.
